02.27.2017 – Feb. 27th, 2017 – IMMEDIATE ACTION NEEDED: International Abortion Fund Update – Canada to Attend March 2nd Conference “She Decides”

The next few days are critical as the Canadian government makes final decisions regarding the international abortion fund.

On March 2nd – this Thursday – Ministers and representatives from Canada will gather with other nations in Belgium to move forward on the international abortion fund. The “She Decides” Conference was planned within days of President Trump’s decision to ban US foreign aid and taxpayer money from going toward abortion internationally.

Through taxes, Canadians who are conscientiously or morally opposed to abortion already fund 100,000 annual abortions taking place within Canada and send millions of dollars towards funding abortion internationally. Canada’s participation in this fund will therefore be in addition to all this…[Click here to read the full article].

02.22.2017 – Feb. 22nd, 2017 – Breaking GOOD NEWS Regarding the Yazidi Refugee Crisis and Canada’s Response

Just yesterday we sent an e-mail to you regarding the plight of the Yazidi people and featured an interview our director, Faytene Grasseschi, had just filmed with MP Michelle Rempel regarding the crisis.

In that interview Michelle explained to us that though the government had promised to prioritize these vulnerable refugees that they had not yet given any indication that a single Yazidi had made it to Canada.

Yesterday in the House of Commons the Minister of Immigration informed Canadians that the government was indeed taking action. The National Post reported, “Some 1,200 people considered to be among the most vulnerable refugees in the world are to be housed in Canada by the end of this year…”…[Click here to read the full article].

02.21.2016 – Feb. 21st, 2017 – Faytene Interviews MP Michelle Rempel Re the Yazidi Refugee Crisis & What the Government is Doing // Time Sensitive

Yesterday we posted a video of MY Canada Director, Faytene Grasseschi, talking with MP Michelle Rempel regarding the Yazidi refugee crisis and Canada’s current response.

Last fall the government passed a motion prioritizing getting refugees from this very vulnerable minority group to Canada. At that time the government gave themselves a 4 month window. This window ends this week and as far as we know no government sponsored refugees of the Yazidi people have yet come to Canada.

In this interview MP Michelle Rempel shares why the plight of the Yazidi people is so important and what we can do THIS WEEK to encourage our government to keep it’s promise to help them…[Click here to read the full article].

02.16.2017 – Feb. 16th, 2017 – A Pro-Life Prime Minister of Canada? Dare to Dream: Join by March 28th to Vote in the CPC Leadership Election

By now, you’ve probably heard that Canadians have the incredible opportunity to elect a pro-life candidate as leader of the Conservative Party of Canada this spring. But perhaps you have not yet considered the role that you are invited to play in this historic moment. Perhaps you do not know that now is the time to act.

We often call on you to sign petitions, place phone calls, send e-mails, share videos and more, and every action does make a difference. But rarely are we given the chance to have such an exponential and long-lasting impact with just a few simple steps.

So, if you do nothing else in the fight for life in 2017, please do this!!…[Click here to read the full article].

02.13.2017 – Feb. 13th, 2017 – Time-Sensitive Call to Action & Update // Canada Moves Towards Putting MORE Money Towards Abortion

We recently shared about Canada’s consideration of a partnership to invest millions MORE in international abortion. This was a response to President Trump’s ban on funding foreign abortions.

To be clear, Canadians who are conscientiously opposed to abortion are already forced to participate in it through our taxes; over 100,000 annual tax-funded abortions within Canada and millions of dollars already going towards funding abortions internationally. The funding in question now would be in addition to all this.

According to reports, Canada may very well be planning to move ahead with being part of this initiative.

We can still change this through our prayers and action…[Click here to read the full article].

02.09.2017 – Feb. 9th, 2017 – Motion On Islamophobia Set For Vote Next Week

Members of Parliament are set to vote on an “Islamophobia” motion next week at a time when emotions are high following the United States immigration ‘pause’ and the horrific Quebec mosque shooting that tragically left 6 Canadians killed.

Liberal MP Iqra Khalid’s Motion M-103 is called “Systemic Racism and Religious Discrimination” but it does not refer to discrimination towards all religions; only towards Islam. It calls on the Heritage Committee to study how to eliminate “Islamophobia” and could result in recommended laws to achieve this goal.

M-103 seeks additional protection for Muslims and therefore favours one religion above all others. It could prepare the way for the criminalization of “Islamophobia” and challenge rational criticism of an entire religion…[Click here to read the full article].

“What can I do to make a difference on important moral issues in Canada?”

“How can I help pass a stronger Canada onto my children?”

“Where do I start when it comes to huge issues like human trafficking, abortion, assisted suicide, the national debt, etc.?”

02.06.2017 – Feb. 6th, 2017 – New Video & Canada’s Response to Persecuted Minorities in the Middle East

Yazidi women and girls have been increasingly raped, traded and sold as sex slaves amongst ISIS fighters in recent years. They are Iraq’s (and amongst the world’s) most persecuted minority group.

Parliament voted unanimously last October in support of MP Michelle Rempel’s motion to acknowledge this genocide against the Yazidi people and to welcome Yazidi women and children to safety in Canada within 120 days. The government would not commit to a specific number of Yazidis to be welcomed but government officials hinted in November that they would only target 50 women and girls for safe asylum, a move that CPC interim-leader Rona Ambrose called “a token effort”.

We are now quickly approaching the end of the 120 days given in the motion…[Click here to read the full article].

02.04.2017 – Feb. 4th, 2017 – Pray 150 – Join In 150 Days of Prayer & Fasting Leading Into Canada’s 150th Birthday

To prepare the way in prayer for Canada’s 150th and for TheCRY Kingston TheCRY Movement has launched a strategic initiative called Pray 150. We wanted to make sure you heard about it.

Why Pray 150?
Canada is turning 150 on July 1, 2017. Biblically every 50th year is a jubilee – a time for freedom and deliverance. Before entering the promised land the people of God were exhorted to consecrate (prepare) themselves for this important time of shift and inheritance. In the same way we believe that the lead up to Canada’s 150th birthday is an important time for us to prepare spiritually as a nation for all the Lord wants to do in the next season of our national history. One of the primary ways we can prepare is through prayer and fasting…[Click here to read the full article].

01.31.2017 – Jan. 31st, 2017 – New Video & Very Important Call To Action // Canada Considering Putting MORE Money Towards Abortion

Last week, President Trump signed an executive order to stop US funding of international abortions. We were grateful for this action because it will save lives.

Unfortunately in response to President Trump’s action our own Prime Minister is taking the exact opposite tone and considering beefing up Canada’s funding of international abortion. Click here to read more.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his Cabinet Ministers have indicated they are strongly considering joining forces with Denmark and 15-20 other countries in establishing a $600 million fund to cover abortions no longer funded by the US.

Canadians who conscientiously object to the killing of the unborn are already forced to participate abortion against their will because of the more than 100,000 tax funded abortions which take place in Canada every year…[Click here to read full article].

January 27th, 2017

Today our American friends gather to be a public witness for life at the largest pro-life rally in the world, the 44th March for Life in Washington.

These are exciting times on the life front. Within the past week, President Trump signed an executive order banning government funding of foreign abortions and the House of Representatives voted to ban taxpayer funding of abortion.

In light of this we are anticipating that this will be the most attended, most impactful U.S. March for Life yet.

01.25.2017 – Jan. 25th, 2017 – Upcoming Debate on Bill C-277: Giving Canadians Guaranteed Access to Palliative Care

January 25th, 2017

It is now legal for Canadian medical practitioners to help patients die by assisted suicide even though palliative care is not yet an available option for all Canadians facing terminal illness. If assisted suicide is available for Canadians then palliative care simply must be as well. It should have been made available first!

There are only about 200 hospices across Canada and only 16-33% of Canadians who die currently have access to hospice, palliative and end-of-life care services. (More info).

Because of this, MP Marilyn Gladu put forth Private Members Bill C-277…[Click here to read the full article].

Every year, more than $40 billion is made off of the exploitation of children, women, and men for sex and labour around the world. Two million are exploited in the commercial sex trade globally every year and less than 1% of these victims are rescued. Here in Canada, we have already seen a number of human trafficking arrests made in the first few weeks of 2017:

– Thunder Bay Police charge two with human trafficking

– Late senator’s grandson admits to human trafficking

– Ont. man and boy charged with human trafficking after woman allegedly assaulted

On Jan 15th over 70 countries came together to discuss the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and reaffirm the viewpoint that a negotiated two-state solution is the only way to achieve enduring peace. Neither Israel or Palestine were present at the conference to determine their fate.

The summit concluded with a statement backed by all 70 countries present, calling on Israel and the Palestinians to restate their commitment to a “two-state solution” to peace and for both sides to refrain from unilateral actions which could interfere with peace talks.

01.10.2017 – Jan. 10th, 2017 – Time-Sensitive: Call on Canada to Defend Israel at Mid-East Peace Conference, Jan. 15th

Israel has been in the international spotlight following the UN’s anti-Israel resolution in late December. Interestingly, the UN refers to the Temple Mount and Western Wall, Judaism’s holiest site, solely by their Islamic names in the resolution. It is also concerning that the U.N. General Assembly adopted 24 resolutions in 2016; 20 of which were anti-Israel resolutions. (The others were for North Korea, Syria, Iran and Russia.)

On January 15th, Paris is hosting a Middle-East peace summit with representatives from 70 countries to discuss the Israeli-Palestinian peace process and determine a “two-state” solution to “peace” in Israel…[Click here to read the full article].

Advocates on both sides of the debate exploded with shock; some horrified that a child capable of survival outside the womb could be targeted because of his/her special needs; and shockingly, some up in arms that such a late-term request could possibly merit delay and refusal from two Montreal hospitals…

11.28.2016 – Nov. 28th, 2016 – Upcoming Events & Important Dates Across Canada

Freedom of speech, religion and conscience are continuously being challenged. With the passage of Bill C-14 and legalization of assisted suicide this year, one very important freedom has been largely overlooked: the freedom of conscience protection of medical professionals.

‘Safeguards’ protecting the freedom of conscience of doctors, nurses, and pharmacists who conscientiously object to assisted suicide are insufficient. We must stand up and speak out in defence of the freedom of medical professionals to refuse to participate.

Stephen Woodworth, recent MP and Director of the Democracy Defence Initiative, is leading the charge to stand for the protection of conscience rights for medical professionals by holding a rally on November 30th…[Click here to read the full article].

11.14.2016 – Nov. 14th, 2016 – TWU Wins Big in B.C. & A Call to Continued Prayer for the United States

Trinity Western University is celebrating a big win in British Columbia as the provincial Court of Appeals has upheld a previous Supreme Court decision to support the University.

As many of you know, TWU has been battling law societies in B.C., Ontario and Nova Scotia that refused to give accreditation to the school’s future law graduates because of the community covenant agreement that TWU students sign, which includes the pledge to reserve sexual intimacy for marriage between a man and woman.

08.08.2016 – August 8th, 2016 – TWU Law School Update: Celebrating A Big Victory in Nova Scotia, and the Battle for Freedom of Religion Continues in Ontario and BC

Prior to this year, Appeals Courts ruled in favour of TWU in B.C. and Nova Scotia, and against TWU in Ontario. These decisions were recently appealed in each province and it seems the battle is headed to the Supreme Court in the near future.

The Ontario Court of Appeals ruled on June 29th that the province’s law society was reasonable in their decision to withhold accreditation from TWU students. The court acknowledged that TWU’s freedom of religion WAS infringed upon but ruled that it was justified! Image processed by CodeCarvings Piczard ### FREE Community Edition ### on 2015-05-18 19:18:06Z | | http://codecarvings.comTWU FIGHTS FOR RELIGIOUS FREEDOM

Trinity Western University (TWU) is continuing to struggle for the right to have its proposed law school recognized and future graduates permitted to practice law in all provinces.

Testimonies were presented in BC and Ontario Courts of Appeals this week in attempt to determine whether the law societies have infringed upon the religious freedom of the Christian university by refusing to recognize credentials simply because of the religious beliefs of the school and the students who go there.

TWU requires that all staff and students sign a Community Covenant Agreement which includes the understanding of sexual intimacy being reserved for marriage between one man and one woman. Governing law societies in BC, Nova Scotia and Ontario have refused to grant potential law graduates of TWU the accreditation required to practice law in the provinces, claiming that the university promotes discrimination against the LGBT community…[Click here to read the full article].

06.08.2016 – June 8th, 2016 – Assisted Suicide now LEGAL in Canada, plus Final Days to Influence the Senate on Bill C-14: E-mail all Canadian Senators within 5 Minutes

Parliament has missed the Supreme Court’s deadline and assisted suicide officially became legal throughout Canada on Tuesday, June 7th. Since Bill C-14 is still in the Senate after being passed in the House of Commons, the Supreme Court’s ruling in Carter stands. It is now up to the provinces to determine how this ruling will be applied.

The Senate’s Legal and Constitutional Affairs Committee has chosen to forgo the usual procedure of recommending amendments to the Senate. This means that all Senators will be welcome to propose amendments.

By all accounts, it appears the bill could be put to a Senate vote by the end of this week at the earliest…[Click here to read the full article].

05.18.2016 – May 18th, 2016 – Update: The Senate Could Be the Game Changer for Assisted Suicide & Join Us At Parliament June 1st for Important Rally

SenateGameChangerCTV News reported yesterday that Senators are saying that they will NOT pass the assisted suicide legislation (C-14) by the June 6th deadline. This could be great news.

There will NOT be a legislative void:
If the bill is not passed by the June 6th deadline, it could signal that the Senate may be the game changer on this issue. A slower process means that more time will be given to look at the legislation critically and allow for important debate.

Some have raised the concern that if C-14 is not passed by June 6th it will leave a legislative void and mean “anything goes” for assisted suicide in Canada. This is not true. If Bill C-14 does not pass by June 6th then the Supreme Court ruling will stand which only allows assisted suicide for “consenting adults with unbearable pain”. These parameters are actually more restrictive than C-14…[Click here to read the full article].

05.16.2016 – May 16th, 2016 – Report on a Successful March for Life and Update on Cassie and Molly’s Law Following First Hour of Debate in House of Commons

MarchforLife2016Last Thursday, the 19th annual March for Life took place in Ottawa. The event was hugely successful with an estimated 22,000 people in attendance, including a number of Members of Parliament, Senators and their families.

The primary focus was on the lack of any laws surrounding abortion in Canada with an added focus on the upcoming legislation on assisted suicide. Participants were also made aware of recent news that Canada will soon once again be funding abortions in developing countries.

This year’s overwhelming message, however, was one of encouragement for Canada’s pro-life movement as a whole to become even more politically active in the fight for the protection of our youngest, most vulnerable citizens and of the sick and elderly most at risk because of legalized assisted suicide…[Click here to read the full article].

05.11.2016 – May 11th, 2016 – Update on Assisted Suicide and Call for Continued Prayer and Fasting to See C-14 Defeated

rallyFirstly, we want to say a sincere and heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who participated in the three-day fast May 7-9th to pray for the defeat of the assisted suicide bill (C-14). As we pray and fast we are filling the bowls of intercession in heaven on this issue and believe that God’s is hearing.

Though our Parliamentary sources expected the vote to potentially take place yesterday, May 10th, the final debate and vote has not yet happened. The bill is still in committee and expected to return to the floor of the House of Commons any day for this final vote.

The good news about this is that it gives us more time to pray, get the word out to our friends and family about the bill & to contact our MPs. Please keep praying, sharing and contacting our leaders. If C-14 passes the House of Commons, it will be debated and voted on in the Senate within the coming days/weeks.

All this means: we need to keep at it!… [Click here to read the full article].

04.22.2016 – Apr. 22nd, 2016 – Assisted Suicide Campaign Making an Impact (Please Join In), Gendercide Exposed In Canada & Apply to Meet with Alberta’s Government Leaders with MYC

The Canadian Medical Association Journal recently published two heartbreaking studies that prove gendercide is occurring in Canada as there is a higher than normal ratio of male to female babies being born. The gender imbalance increases significantly if the family already has existing female children. Basically, the study proves that some families abort baby girls until they have their preferred son.

The report states that this most often occurs among women who were born in India and who may have been taught culturally to consider baby girls as having less value than baby boys. It is wonderful that there are laws preventing women from having gender-selection abortions in India. However, this law DOES NOT EXIST in Canada…[Click here to read the full article].

There is good news and bad news in this.

The good news is that the legislation did not apply some of the controversial recommendations of the Parliamentary committee such as access to assisted suicide for mature minors. 08.01.15 – Health Canada Approves the Controversial and Dangerous Abortion Pill – What You Can Do

AbortionPillApprovalIt is with heavy hearts that we report to you that earlier this week it was announced that Health Canada has approved RU-486 (the controversial abortion pill). Unless reversed this could dramatically increase Canada’s annual abortion rate, which is already conservatively estimated at 100,000 lives a year.

In a statement issued by MP David Anderson on July 30th, he explained that the RU-486, “…is not only lethal to preborn infants, but is associated with 19 adult deaths in 11 years.
