Across Canada over the next weeks important municipal elections and federal nomination campaigns are taking place.
This is an important time to get involved.
The Canada we create through voting will be the Canada we experience for next few years.
Electing local leaders affects our daily lives.
Moreover, some municipal elections include school boards, which have increasingly become a battle zone for freedom & parental rights. Municipal governments also have some say on where marijuana can and cannot be smoked in the community.
Most regions will host, or have already hosted, candidate debates so that you can learn more about each person running and make an informed decision. Below is a list of upcoming municipal elections.
If an election is coming up in your area please take a few moments to find out about your candidates. Normally a quick Google search of your area or a call to your City Hall or local newspaper will get you headed towards the information you need to make an informed choice. Give the candidates a quick call or e-mail and ask them where they stand on issues you care about for your community.
Upcoming Municipal Elections
October 20th – BC
October 22nd – Ontario
October 24th – Manitoba and some parts of Saskatchewan
November 5th – PEI
December 10th – Nunavut Hamlets and some Northwest Territory Hamlets
Parts of the Northwest Territories and Yukon voted yesterday (October 18th). Please pray for these newly elected leaders.
Key nomination campaigns are currently taking place for the 2019 federal election, as well as the Alberta provincial election next spring. The winners of these nominations will be the ones running at election time.
Would you like to volunteer to help a great candidate get elected? Let us know! We would be happy to forward you a list of morally upright candidates running and that need help. Even if you don’t live in their riding you can still volunteer from home in many cases.
