Earlier this month, the Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage released the report on their study of “Systemic Racism and Religious Discrimination Including Islamophobia” initiated by Liberal MP Iqra Khalid’s controversial motion M-103.
We are pleased that the report focused on targeting racism and religious discrimination in broad terms and many of the committee’s recommendations are positive and agreeable.
The report recommendations include:
▪ Investing more resources in investigating & fighting hate speech online,
▪ Establishing uniform guidelines and an improved national database for hate crimes and hate incidents,
